Ho Ho Ho

From me to all, Merry Christmasss, yo. Hope all is well, yet the day hasn't been all that successful with the lakers losing, and the los angeles cable blackout which caused fans to miss part of that game. A bad day on paper, yet flourishing in spirit none the less! But anyways, here's my free gift to you: Kev Brown's Low Budget Christmas + A Decade of Flying Lotus. (no credit taken in the production, just the promotion) Enjoy, as I finish my day off with the fam. watching This Christmas and stuffing my face with honey baked ham. Dunking on that reindeer, dunking on that reindeer. Happy birthday Jesus!

Up In The Air

Crossing borders between occupation listings of corporate America's "road dogs" and teaching someone the art of job firing, Up In The Air is the best movie of the year. With George Clooney living the true "single" life, living on the air and first class without paying a single penny makes the main character role interesting. But what happens when your whole life lived on the road stops and settles for home, which causes your single interests to do the same? A movie of Occupation vs Love, motivational speeches with "backpack" analogies, and getting payed to fire people makes this film a comedy in disguise.

Shan-Wow

So as any Laker fan would know, Shannon Brown has displayed his athleticism and explosiveness with a highlight reel of dunks game-to-game all throughout the season. With a freakishly high jump vertical and ability to create lanes for himself through out the course of the game has led Shannon to be a crowd favorite. Fans as well as teammates (and discreetly Shannon himself) have taken it to another level to try and get Shanon to the dunk contest. How much fun would it be to have another Laker not only win the contest, but also show up the prince royalty of the NBA? This has not only been a fun idea to prance about, but an active movement.

Lance Armstrong's New Trek

Taken from Limited Hype
http://limitedhype.com/2009/12/trek-district-%C3%97-lance-armstrong-lance-district/

We get a first look at Lance Armstrong’s custom Trek District following up on Project STAGES that featured an impressive line up of custom Madone frames for Armstrong for the Tour de France with the likes of Damien Hirst, KAWS, Shepard Fairey, Marc Newson, and Yoshimoto Nara. This collaboration came about when both parties realized Armstrong didn’t have a great bike to just get out, ride and have fun with. We like to picture him going out to get milk with it. Known simply as the Lance District, it features Trek’s new carbon fibre District frame, carbon fiber composite yellow belt drive system and a few flashes of yellow on an otherwise stock frame. The word from Trek is that Lance is a huge fan, but having a hard time finding enough time away from training to actually be on a bike for fun as the team has started training camp this week. Sadly, this is just a one-off, but you can get a stock version here.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Okay, so I have successfully accomplished reading the original novel, and watching the film of this drug tale and lesson on American opportunity. This isn't any other stoner comedy you have seen, and is uniquely shaped to not fit any category but its own. Infested with a teaching on the drug age in the 60's and 70's, creative edge in character, an infamous Las Vegas setting, and Johnny Depp portraying original gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson makes Fear and Loathing the total opposite of a spectator.

I like this sesame street paraody still too much.

So the reunion of the sixers and the answer is rejoiced and celebrated with a lot of spectation everywhere. Probably the best transaction of the year so far, now making Philly my east coast favorite team. A lot of people forgot, but Allen Iverson is still good.

Wake up Mr. West Mr. West

Okay, you know the expression a picture is worth a thousand words? Well this still just provoked a lot of thoughts. Lets call them conclusions actually. Here is a photo of Kanye's girlfriend Amber Rose with a quote expressing her feelings on sex. This is either a false execution of "sugar coating" or a hint behind a quote expressing real thoughts. If either is true, I would be remained laughing, because honestly Kanye is a joke. Those guys @ South Park really knew what they were doing.

Late Night Jimmy Fallon

Been meaning to blog about this late night talk show for a minute. Hands down may not be the best in the comedic, or composed talk show on air, yet wins the crown for dopest with flying colors. Jimmy Fallon has the greatest band ever playing on set with him, some of the dopest guests (but then again every talk show does) and adds the spontaneous jist of never knowing whats on topic next. Oh and if you have a black star reunion, something has to give. Just saying.

Bohemian Modern: Living in Silver Lake

So I perused through this book of the Silver Lake/Los Angeles modern lifestyle of home living, and had to say it was a breeeeze. Definitely a breath of fresh air from the pop-culture art and tacky wilts of today. Can't wait to someday introduce my plannings on paper.

Pau Gasol Appreciation Post

With the Lakers doing not-so-hot so far this season due to the absence of the big Spaniard, only one can wonder what Pau would be doing with his rehab time recovering from his injury. Suprisingly enough, Pau has been on a roll of unusual yet comical acts.

Oh and just to remind us of Pau's hollywood debut.

Catfish and Mandala

Okay, first ever novel critique on this blog. Just finished reading this novel over the past 3 weeks about a bike ride through the American pacific coast, then off cycling Japan, then the majority of the adventure, biking through the country of Vietnam. A true story of a Vietnamese-American embarking on this adventure to seek his true roots and find some enlightenment through a voyage few are to consider. HIGHLY recommend this book, especially if you got a little bohemian hedonism in ya.

Free the Robots

Very interesting article I came across @ National Geographic. Apparently technology has been booming all over the face of the planet, and now being inducted into the deep depths of captain jack's seven seas. The production of aquatic animal robots seems to be the current fad in technological advances. In my opinion, this takes away the authentication of marine life, yet adds a plus to a new biological discovery. Or wait, industrial discovery? Either way, a step towards robotic life underwater imposes the danger of walking among human robots who look exactly like me. I'm scared.

Social Bet-working

So here's the jist of it. People ignited the social networking world when myspace and xanga were the biz way back when. Everyone knows that, just in similarity with cable television (or television in general if you want to get technical) channels make their dinero by commercials and advertisements. So the battle has far from just begun on the internet world where the likes of facebook competing with myspace, tumblr competing with blogspot competing with wordpress, twitter competing with who knows what. Don't call me the main antogonist just yet, I fully 100% support the new age technology, especially internet. But with America being far from financially stable (inspite of the recession) compared to some third world countries rotting in poverty, money spent on ADVERTISING meanless shit just dosen't seem that important to me. But then again, I am a social networker. Pass the peas like they used to say.

Next Day Air

Harold and Kumar meets Waist Deep in this stoner comedy/action based flick. With an all star cast including Donald Faison, Wood Harris, Mike Epps, and Mos Def the philadelphia drug exchange can be a risky business. Comedically filmed with its hard/gangsterish vibe creeping in the walls of every scene and with a too apropriate soundtrack makes Next Day Air a fresh arrival. Dope story line, dope actors, dope ending. Hah.

Cleveland Cuisine

Okay, first and most likely last post you will ever witness me writing about the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not here to bash on prince James nor Shaq, but am here to praise the team's culinary expertise in head chef Michael Symon. For any food network watchers, some may know him as the winner of the first ever The Next Iron Chef and is currently on Iron Chef America. With his midwestern, sandwich artist type of cuisine, he is teaming up with the Cavs to ensure great health along with great taste in the team's nutritional aspirations. Probably the only step they have over the lakers and one thing to compliment them on. See you on Christmas, with your turkey and all that.
